Limiting Interruptions With Do Not Disturb Function

ALLOWING PHONE NUMBERS TO RING​ Useful to make your Battleground phone number or any key contact ring/beep even when using Do Not Disturb​ If you use Do Not Disturb when you sleep and you wish to be Crisis Ready, these settings are for you!


This guide explains how to allow specific contacts or apps to bypass Do Not Disturb (DND) on your phone, so their calls and notifications always come through. iOS:
  1. Open the Contacts app and find someone you want to your phone to ring for​
  2. Tap “Edit” and scroll down to “Ringtone”​
  3. Turn on the “Emergency Bypass” toggle, then tap “Done” and then “Done” again.​
  4. Your phone will now ring when that contact calls you, even if your phone is set to Do Not Disturb. ​
  5. You can do the same for text message alerts: tap "Text Tone" in the same contact, turn on "Emergency Bypass", then tap "Done" twice.

Android:

  1. Open the Contacts app and find someone you want to your phone to ring for​
  2. Tap the star icon to add the contact to your Favourites​
  3. Open the Settings app and go to “Sound & vibration” and then “Do Not Disturb”.​
  4. Under exceptions tap on “Calls, Messages, and conversations” (Some phones this may be named “People”)​
  5. Select “Calls” and allow “Favourite contacts only”​
  6. Your phone will now ring when that contact calls you, even if your phone is set to Do Not Disturb. ​
  7. You can do the same for text messages as well, simple click “Messages” and allow “Favourite contacts only”.

Allowing App notifications (Android only):

Allow Battleground push notifications to sound even while Do Not Disturb is enabled.

  1. Open the Settings app and go to “Sound & vibration” and then “Do Not Disturb”.​
  2. Under exceptions tap on “Apps” ​
  3. Press add apps and select Battleground from the list​
  4. Your phone will now receive Battleground notifications, even if your phone is set to Do Not Disturb.
