Control Evaluation Process

The objective of this SOP is to guide team members on how to evaluate controls effectively.

To evaluate a control and complete an action plan, add a new action plan, assess all control design objectives, provide an overall assessment with commentary, record operation evidence, specify the evaluator and report recipient, enter the evaluation date, and save and close the record.

Key steps

  1. Add a new action plan following the action plan guide (see the video demonstration below for step-by-step guidance).
  2. Sort by different columns as needed.
  3. Answer relevant control design objectives by ticking yes or no.
  4. Provide an overall assessment as good, marginal, or poor with commentary.
  5. Evaluate the control operation and provide an overall assessment.
  6. Include operation evidence and attachments.
  7. Specify who evaluated the control and who it was reported to.
  8. Enter the date of evaluation and additional commentary.
  9. Click save and close.
