Understanding Internal Contacts
Understand how to use Internal Contacts in Plans (and drawing them from BIAs)
Creating Internal Contacts in Battleground
Objective
This SOP outlines the steps to link BIAs and plans with internal contacts in the Battleground system.
Key Steps
1. Introduction to Internal Contacts 0:01
-
Internal Contacts is a feature in Battleground launched in August 2024.
-
It allows linking BIAs (Business Impact Analyses) and plans with internal contacts (users or job titles).
2. Linking a BIA 0:23
-
To link a BIA, you can:
-
Insert a BIA through the 'Related BIAs' section.
-
Click the 'Link' option to select a BIA (e.g., Control Room BIA).
-
3. Automatic Linking of Contacts 0:38
-
Linking a BIA will automatically include:
-
Plan Response Teams
-
External Contacts (Service Providers)
-
Internal Contacts associated with the BIA.
-
4. Adding Dependencies 1:05
-
Within the Control Room BIA, add dependencies:
-
Select a person (e.g., Craig Pixel).
-
Select a job title (e.g., Angular Developer).
-
5. Refreshing the Plan 1:36
-
After adding dependencies, refresh the plan to see updates:
-
Craig Pixel will appear due to his person dependency.
-
The Angular Developer will appear due to the job title dependency.
-
6. Syncing Internal Contacts 2:08
-
Changes made in the BIA will reflect in the plan.
-
Sync the phone to update internal dependencies and contacts in the plans.
7. Accessing Internal Contacts in Plans 2:47
-
Navigate to a specific plan (e.g., BCP plan).
-
Click on the 'i' icon at the top to view internal contacts.
8. Actioning Internal Contacts 3:09
-
Internal contacts can be actioned directly within the plan.
Cautionary Notes
-
Ensure that all dependencies are accurately entered to avoid missing critical contacts.
-
Regularly update BIAs to reflect any changes in personnel or job titles.
Tips for Efficiency
-
Use the 'Link' feature to quickly associate multiple contacts at once.
-
